Meet Sophia C. Gile, DDS
Sophia C. Gile, DDS, brings energy, compassion & exceptional skill as a general & restorative dentist to our La Jolla, CA, dental practice. She has established Wellness Dental as one of the premier dental implant centers in Southern California. While many practices have to refer patients out for various stages of the dental implant procedure, which adds time & expense to the treatment, Dr. Gile is able to perform every stage of implant dentistry at Wellness Dental.
This is only one of many traits that distinguish Dr. Gile. In addition to her mastery of a comprehensive range of treatments, from dental crowns & bridges to laser periodontal care & root canal surgery, she is a true philanthropist, eager to donate both her time & her skills to those in need. She travels the world, visiting countries such as Nicaragua & Mexico, where she provides free dental work to those who do not have access to advanced general & restorative care. She was also, along with her family, instrumental in starting & expanding the Believe Walk for the Cure, an event that raises funds for cancer therapy.
Dr. Gile’s benevolence extends to her treatment of her patients as well. She is known for her sympathetic chairside manner & pleasant, upbeat personality. Her innate love of humanity shows through in the natural rapport she is able to establish with families, including the very youngest of patients.

Education & Training
Dr. Gile earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Point Loma Nazarene University here in San Diego. She then proceeded to attend the prestigious Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in Loma Linda, CA, where she completed a rigorous four-year program & attained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
During her training, she received several honors & awards; most notably, she received the Award for Outstanding Achievement, Clinically & Academically, in Implant Dentistry from the renowned American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
In order to remain current with the latest developments in cosmetic, general & restorative dentistry, Dr. Giles participates in hours of advanced training & continuing education coursework each year. She integrates what she learns into her primary areas of professional focus, which include full-mouth reconstruction, fixed & removable prosthodontics, implant dentistry, extractions, Invisalign® orthodontics & laser dentistry.

When she isn’t devoting her abundant energies to serving our patients or patients in need with outstanding dental care, she is probably searching for ways to live life to its absolute fullest. Her favorite activities include having fun at the beach with her husband & sons. She also enjoys the culinary arts, boating, snowshoeing, snowboarding, hiking & paddle boarding.
