Education & Training

After completing his undergraduate degree in biology, Dr. Kim went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of the Pacific, San Francisco, at the age of 23. Rather than immediately entering into practice, he chose to participate in an additional year of post-doctoral training, focusing on advanced surgical procedures & cosmetic dentistry.

Even now that he has established his own dental practice, Dr. Kim participates in hours of continuing education coursework & advanced training each year, with an emphasis on laser dentistry & his long-time passion, cosmetic dentistry. He is constantly striving to integrate new techniques & technologies into the practice that he feels will benefit his patients.

Teaching, Lecturing & Publications

In addition to practicing at Wellness Dental, Dr. Kim has served as a faculty member of the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, as well as a volunteer assistant clinical professor at the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine. He has presented many lectures on advanced dentistry & cosmetic dental treatments, with his audiences comprising both dental students & practicing dentists. He has been extensively published, & he has presented his published research findings at dental conventions throughout the nation.

Personal Life

When he isn’t providing outstanding dental care to patients or advancing his knowledge or the knowledge of others, Dr. Kim can probably be found enjoying the company of his wife & four children. He loves to relax by taking leisurely walks with his family & his golden retriever. Occasionally, he’ll hit the golf course or take advantage of his proximity to the beautiful Pacific Ocean by learning to surf. He also enjoys playing tennis, spending time with friends & listening to music.
